Carmel and Jo run Thorncliffe BnB in Hebden Bridge Yorkshire. They love Hebden Bridge, of course, and invite women to stay in their Hebden Bridge BnB and relish the delights of this funky area. Their B&B is one of the fabulous places for women travelers on the Women’s Accommodation Network section of Women Travel the World.

Hebden Bridge in the UK has been described as ‘the 4th funkiest town in the world’ and ‘the coolest place in Britain’ – these descriptions may be over-doing it a little but it is a unique place to visit!
It’s a former mill town in Yorkshire, which hippies discovered in the 70s, artists then created studios in its old weaving sheds, it became the centre for lesbians and many others creating an alternative lifestyle, and then just generally became a thriving and independently-minded community.
It has its own cinema, music venue, small theatre and many independent small shops. Surrounding the town are the steep slopes of the Pennine hills with many walking paths going up onto the moors, with the Bronte town of Haworth nearby

Hebden Bridge BnB
Carmel and Jo run Thorncliffe which is a Hebden Bridge B&B with a difference. It is in a traditional Victorian house, just a short walk from the centre of town. It has two large rooms with king-sized beds, each ensuite, and having fridges. Continental breakfasts are served to the room so that guests can be as relaxed and independent as possible. They can give guests a lot of information about what is going on locally, and Jo can also give maps and information about local walks, she also works as a walking group guide.
