Camp Camp – Summer Camp – but not as you know it…

June 25, 2017 by Rosemary

Campcamp

The first year I signed up for ‘Camp’ Camp, I had no idea what I was getting into. After a friend invited me, I agreed to go without giving it very much thought. Then, about a week before I was scheduled to leave, I took a closer look at the website. Described as “a summer camp for LGBT adults” in the woods of Maine, it required that I share a cabin with up to a dozen total strangers. I’d be eating meals with almost 250 people. There was an … [Read more...]

New Zealand Awaits – Gay and Lesbian Travel

July 30, 2015 by Rosemary

New Zealand awaits

In my experience most people who do not live in New Zealand, definitely want to visit, they do not need convincing, rather they need an excuse, and enticement.  For Gay and Lesbian travelers, such an enticement has just gone online in the form of New Zealand Awaits. Lonely Planet’s top travel lists for 2015 rated New Zealand as one of the most “inclusive and progressive” gay-friendly travel destinations on the planet, second only to Denmark. … [Read more...]

Portland is a Great Destination Spot for Single Women Travelers

November 24, 2010 by Rosemary

Guest post by Deb Lamedman Exploring Portland, Oregon It’s wonderful to share experiences and vacation time with others. But there is definitely something to be said for picking up and taking off on your own. One of the best destinations I know for women traveling alone is Portland, Oregon. If you are a woman traveling alone, friends traveling together, or a lesbian couple who want to experience a fun weeklong get-away, Portland is an exciting … [Read more...]

The Highlands Inn Celebrates 25 Years as “Lesbian Paradise”

February 29, 2008 by Rosemary

The Highlands Inn , a lesbian resort in New Hampshire, USA will celebrate its 25th year in business in 2008. I wrote to them recently to congratulate them - few accommodation and hospitality businesses last this long, and this one has continued to thrive. Named by PlanetOut as “one of the most romantic lesbian destinations on the planet," the lesbian-owned Highlands is one of very few resorts or inns that cater to a women-only clientele. To … [Read more...]
