India or Africa – Natasha and Indafrica have it Covered

December 7, 2016 by Rosemary

Natasha Sinclair runs a travel company Indafrica – focusing on travel in India and Africa with some great tours for Women Travellers.

Indafrica is the latest listing on Women Travel the World‘s listing of tours and accommodation for women around the World.

For me the most exciting new offering is India Cycle Trips – ideal for those who love the New Zealand rail trial type of experience. Read More

Natasha lives in a small community in the South Island of New Zealand, but that does not prevent her reaching the world, here she writes about that:

Natasha

I worked for another tour company that went through 2 changes of ownership and was just about to go through a third change in the last months of my pregnancy with my daughter.

I decided to take redundancy and take 6-12 months to decide what to do next when Bruce Taylor and Shaun Waring-Jones at Sunway Safaris whom I had known, worked and travelled with for a number of years through my previous roles gave me the opportunity to take on representing them here in New Zealand.

Terrible timing with a new baby about to be born but a great opportunity that I couldn’t pass up as it would mean I would be able to continue to work in an industry that I love.  So out popped Caitlin and I was literally back on email within 3 days of her being born.

I have a broad knowledge and excellent connections across Asia and Africa but I decided to focus on the two parts of the world that I was most passionate about – Southern & East Africa and the India Subcontinent.

A business degree, a former career in marketing in Auckland (before following my former husband to Wanaka initially for work) and a sound understanding of the mechanics of administering a small business (thanks to my parents), I felt I was well placed to make a success of the venture.

Once Caitlin turned 2, I started travelling again and I try to get overseas either escorting a tour or on familiarisation trips 1-2 times a year.  I am lucky to have the support of my husband, Mum who flys down once a year from Waipu, friends and Annabelle Tinworth my sales support person.

Running a business from a small locality such as Cromwell is very rewarding.  It is a wonderful community and being small it is easier to manage the after school activities of a 11-year-old as he can safely bike to things like practices himself and childcare for my three-year-old is literally 100m from our front door.

Skype/Messenger/Whatsapp/Facebook help keep me up to date with happenings on the ground in Africa and India and the people I work with have over the years become close friends.
