A little island nation in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is a paradise on earth, with people living in perfect harmony with nature.

There is much to see and do here, and if you have never thought of travelling to Mauritius, think again.

While the list of Mauritius attractions goes on endlessly, here are six reasons why it is the ideal getaway for ladies.

  1. Mauritius has fascinating beaches

Mauritius is one of those places blessed with magnificent nature. The beauty of the turquoise sea, deep blue sky and mighty mountains simply makes one jealous of the locals, who have the chance to live amongst these beautiful sceneries every day. Beach lovers will fall head over heels with pristine stretches of soft white sand and Instagram-worthy beaches like Flic en Flac and Trou d’Argent beach.

Just off the coast of the island, you will find the illusion of an underwater waterfall, a stunning sight that has attracted people around the world. (See it and read out about it here) You will love spending time by the sea, taking a refreshing dip in the cool water or simply bathing in the golden rays to get a natural bronze tan.

  1. There are plenty of majestic mountains

But these are not all there is to this paradise island. There are several hiking and trekking routes that offer breath-taking views of the rivers, forests and mountains. Along the way, you will be able to spot various flora and fauna species. When you are in Mauritius, you will always be fascinated by the charming nature.

If enjoy water sports, rejoice as there are plenty of sports to play on the glistening water. Surfing, parasailing, windsurfing, laser sailing, stand up paddle, you can find them all in Mauritius. Diving and snorkelling fans will surely enjoy exploring Mauritius marine biodiversity.

You can also go on sea kayaking trips to explore the island and learn about environmental protection.

  1. You will love Mauritian food

This list can’t be completed without food, an important part of any girls’ holiday. When you are in Mauritius, you have the chance to sample dishes exotic dishes. A melting pot of cultures and traditions, Mauritius reflects the influence of French, Chinese and Indian in various parts of the country’s culture, including food.

The Mauritian add a little local twist, bringing a unique flavour to the original version. How does strolling through the town, sampling various street food with your besties sound?

  1. Mauritian sunrises are mesmerising

The gradient of the morning sky in Mauritius will never fail to bring out the romanticist in you. As you arise from a peaceful slumber, the peaceful island greets you with its pastel sky and warm, gentle lights. You take a deep breath to breathe in the gifts of nature and appreciate the tranquillity of the silent moment, before life wakes up.

Not all sunrise shows are the same, and Mauritius’ stands above all else.

  1. You will live in the lap of luxury in Mauritius

Who wouldn’t love being pampered like a princess? There are plenty of beachfront villas and resorts in Mauritius for you to experience the sense of living lux and being spoilt rotten. Do you remember seeing the scenes of a beach-side house, with the sand and water just steps away from the villa?

As you slowly enjoy a refreshing cocktail by the pool, a gentle ocean breeze caresses your hair. All are yours in Mauritius.
