Having an Environmentally Friendly China Tour

April 16, 2015 by Rosemary

China is a wonderful country, and there are many tours in China that you can take which are also environmentally friendly.

By setting a good example and trying our best to do our own part in looking after the environment, as well as education, we can help to preserve some of the fantastic natural beauty, heritage, and culture that are to be found in China.

Group Tours of China

A good eco-friendly option for the best China Tours for 2015 is to go as part of a group tour. All your meals, transport, hotels, and also excursions are included in the package. Since you are travelling as part of a large group on the same transportation, you will be using less fossil fuel and causing less pollution as a whole.

Alternatively, if you do not want to travel as a large group on your travels through China, why not think about using public transport instead? You will find the transport is very accessible and reliable, although you will find differing levels of comfort. The language barrier may be an issue, but if you have a Tablet PC or Smartphone, there are plenty of translation applications that you can download, which will help to smooth over any communication problems that you may have.

Cleaning Up After Yourself

Cleaning up after yourself is something that should be constantly observed during your holiday in China. Making sure that you put all of your rubbish in the bin should be something which is automatically done. When you are travelling, you will find that you come to places which may not have rubbish bins at all. That is why you should carry a number of plastic bags in your rucksack, so that you can easily collect up all of your rubbish. Carry your garbage until you find somewhere to dispose of it properly.

When shopping for groceries, use your own rucksack to store your items. Or if you don’t have space in your rucksack, bring along a recyclable bag. By using your own bag, you reduce the consumption of non-biodegradable plastic bags.

If you are staying in a hotel for a number of nights, you may want to look out after your own so room service staff would not need to clean up your room every day. This will mean that your sheets do not have to be cleaned, which will reduce the amount of water and detergent that the hotel uses for laundry.

Taking Care of the Wildlife

You will no doubt come across many wildlife attractions when you are on your China tour. If you love animals, you really want to get close to them, and interact with them, but this is not always within the animal’s best interest. Sometimes, animals are used to attract tourists, and behind the scenes, they are not treated very well.

Before you book any animal excursions on your tour of China, do a bit of research on the destination and try and find reviews by fellow travellers. There are some good quality places that you can visit, and most of these will be able to be found easily on the internet.

Where ever you decide to tour in China, just make sure that you are polite, courteous and clean up after yourself, show the same respect to the locals that you would expect from tourists in your own country.
