I first met Monika Czerveniak while sitting waiting for a massage in the ancient river town of Hoi an in Vietnam. We started talking, as you do. She and her partner had rented an apartment in Hoi An and were there for a few months. I was jealous! Sounded like a great idea to me.
Monika was also passionate about food, and so she has combined two of her great passions – Food and Vietnam in her two week tour of Vietnam called Chowdown Vietnam
I was doing a three week tour of Vietnam with Venus Adventures – a tour I absolutely loved and can recommend. We travelled from Hanoi to the North, then all the way south to the Mekong Delta.
I had thought that a shorter tour would not do Vietnam justice, however I think Monika has created a great tour here. Staying only in three places – a hotel in the historic quarter of Hanoi, in Hoi An and ending up in Saigon, and with a focus on what I thought was one of the absolute high points of Vietnam – its food.
These three places enable her to focus on three distinct areas of the country, and the food and cooking traditions in each. By not moving about every day or two, you get the chance to dig in and explore more. Lots of time to get a massage!
Hoi An has so much too offer – not the least of which is fabulous tailors.
