April 19, 2016 by Rosemary

The Caribbean has some of the best tourist destinations in the world. The sandy beaches, the great resorts and the beautiful weather provide just the ideal environment for a wonderful vacation.

Even though there are different islands in the Caribbean, some particularly stand out because of their unique scenery and amazing hospitality. When you take time off your daily routine to relax and to have some quality time with your loved ones, you expect to have memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. That means that everything has to run smoothly, beginning with your travel and your stay in the location of choice. Anguilla has some of the best white sandy beaches in the Caribbean. The turquoise waters, palm trees, gentle breeze and scenic bays form a picturesque surrounding that sets the right mood for a dream vacation.

Transportation

You can get to Anguilla through different means of transportation depending on what works best for you or what your budget can accommodate. There are several scheduled cruise ships to the island. Checking the itinerary well in advance will help you arrange for your travel. Private yachts can also be used to travel to Anguilla especially for the wealthy vacationers who want to have a little fun in the seas as they travel. There is no direct commercial flight from continental Europe or America but chartered planes can land at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. You can use the locally available taxis for your travel within the island because there really is no public transport. Ferries can also be convenient when you want to travel from the main Island to the other smaller islands.

Your stay

Malliouhana ResortAnguilla resorts provide good accommodation facilities for guests. You can choose to stay in a resort where you can watch the sun set from the comfort of your room, or observe the waves as they swirl majestically in the ocean waters. There is a wide range of options to choose from and you’ll definitely find what works best for you. Whether you are looking for a luxury suite, or an affordable hotel for the family, there is something for everyone. Most of the resorts have great swimming pools where guests can cool off in the hot tropical weather.

There are also hotels that will avail tour guides for their guests so that you don’t miss out on anything interesting. It’s always great to sample some of the local cuisine when you go on vacation to a foreign place and Anguilla certainly has no shortfall of that. There is a reason why the island is always referred to as the Caribbean’s culinary capital. Several resorts strive to ensure that their guests have a true feel of the Caribbean through what they make available on their menus.

Activities

snorkellingBoat racing is obviously one of the most fun things to do in Anguilla. Apart from being the national sport, it will provide you with a new experience. There are also beautiful sandy beaches to explore, dolphin and whale watching, scuba diving, snorkelling and touring of some of the historical sites to get a little insight into the history of the island. A beach wedding is also something to consider for the adventurous couples. There is nothing better than a fairy tale ending.
