5 Huge Reasons Women Are Now Travelling To Costa Rica SOLO!

Of course women are going to Costa Rica, have you seen pictures of this place!?

It is gorgeous! Soft sand clean beaches, warm ocean waters, and enough nature to fill a year worth of National Geographic’s. This country has quickly transitioned to a great tourist hot spot as well as an ideal spot for expats looking to relocate. Voted 2012 as “The Happiest Country” in the world, who wouldn’t want to go check it out and see what all the fuss is about. If you are thinking about taking a break, or perhaps an “extended vacation,” here are five great reasons why Costa Rica should be at the top of your list as a solo woman traveller!

Horseback riding

5. You get the benefit of travelling to an exotic country, where almost all big towns are English spoken

Yes Costa Rica is a Spanish language country. However, with tourism, English is now the main language in most bigger towns and cities. Sure if you go to the outskirts or some smaller home town restaurants you will need to buff up on your Spanish a bit, but all in all, English will suffice just fine. Imagine all the culture and nature you can enjoy, while still feeling the comfort of your native language.

4. You will not be alone.

Sure solo travel leads people to believe that you are embarking on a journey on your own. As soon as you land in a town in Costa Rica you will have lots of friends to greet you. Many cities were created with expats from all over the world, looking for the same adventure you are. With such a common bond you will be sure to meet lots of friendly faces happy to have a new traveller and adventurer around.

3. The adventures are endless

If you are looking for an adventure, Costa Rica is where it is. From surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, nature hikes, ATV tours, canopy tours, horseback riding, night hikes, yoga retreats and just walking along the beach, Costa Rica is packed with adventures and activities to suit any type of adventurer.

2. You still have some of the luxuries of home.

In most larger towns and cities in Costa Rica you still have American style grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, tour companies, and more. You can rent a Costa Rica vacation rental that comes fully stocked with appliances and furniture for a fairly reasonable price monthly as well. This takes away the stress of moving your entire life, and instead opens up the opportunity to play life on it’s own schedule for a bit, and just go month to month in paradise.

Costa Rica

1. You can feel safe.

Most towns don’t have many cars; almost everyone is on foot or bicycle. By just using common sense and paying attention to your surroundings, you will find yourself feeling very safe and at home in Costa Rica. Sure you might get the occasional catcall, but generally speaking, that is rare, and Costa Rica is a very respectful and polite country of locals and expats alike. Just don’t advertise that you have a brand new fancy computer, camera, cell phone, and ipad sitting back at home, and you should be just fine!

What better time then now to start exploring the great outdoors, and why not first check out a spot that many have gone before you. Find a place to stay online and book a plane ticket. Yes, it is that easy. When people back home ask you what you are thinking moving to Costa Rica, just say, “I decided to start living!”

This is sounds fantastic…it is exactly the type of trip I am looking forward to taking some day. If I were to go to Costa Rica I would like to look into a Costa Rica condominium so I could stay for a longer length of time and not have to worry about living in a hotel.
