Art and Travel – this woman was invited to combine the two in Greece

July 1, 2017 by Rosemary

You never know what a day will bring. Sometimes you’re plodding through your day when suddenly you look up and see a rainbow, or you get a call from a long lost friend, or you find a $20 bill in your coat pocket.

And sometimes you get an even bigger surprise…a super surprise….like someone inviting you to teach a workshop in the Greek Isles!  Leslie Fehling

Blue Walk is one of the businesses which feature on Women Travel the World,  While The tours are not just for women, the company is run by women, and the artists they use on art trips are often women.

Travel with a focus or a purpose adds something magic to a trip – whether you are volunteering and giving back in that way, or seeking to make connections with local women along the way, or traveling with a camera, a journal or a sketchbook to record and share your journey.

Blue Walks focus on taking the slow road – walking vacations – either guided or self guided. Many of them have a focus on art, enabling you to look at the scenery and capture it in a new way.

I’ve never been on a Blue Walk tour before. How are your tours different from other European tours?

First and foremost a Blue Walk is about connection – with the place where you are, the people you meet, maybe even with yourself in a new way. It’s traveling on a personal level. Frequently our tours are referred to as a “trip of a lifetime”. Beyond the destinations and the hotels – which are great – I think guests feel this because of our intention to create personal experiences.
