I have heard so much about Cinque Terre, but I have never made it there myself. While I love the pictures and the idea, I wonder if my body is up to it. This snippet from Ruth who did a trip with other women on a Bushwise Women Tour, made me think, maybe I can! Next time!

The charm of visiting the Cinque Terre is the opportunity to soak up a life that is so different from the one most of us live. My first thoughts here are the need for the fitness of a mountain goat, just to pop out for a pint of milk! Except of course it wouldnt be milk it would be wine, olives or pesto!
Each of the five little towns that make up the Cinque Terre have their own charm, four of them have steep slopes and steps with a maze of interconnected tiny streets heading down to the azure sea. The houses are rendered in ochres, blues and pinks and snuggled haphazardly almost on top of one another. Town planning not a chance!
Linking the towns is an efficient train service with spectacular views and a water taxi OR The Walks! With plenty of exercise on the agenda, there is no reason to feel guilty when you indulge your culinary delights here! You have a choice of the ” boot camp” option – higher walks
led by Yvonne.
Or take the more sedate option of the lower paths, browsing galleries and cafes with Ruth. Do not worry even if you opt for the more elevated walks, you will still have time to linger at cafes and browse the odd gallery too!
Bushwise Women have been running tours in New Zealand and around the world for 20 years. I joined them on the annual Bike and Barge trip one year, and Kayaking in the Bay of Islands another.
Its a fabulous way to travel with other women. Check out the Women Travel Tour Calendar
