Are you a Francophile? Enjoy Provence with your own French Coach

January 8, 2016 by Rosemary

Gudrun Bauer, French coach
Gudrun Bauer

Gudrun Bauer is definitely a Francophile and delights in sharing her passion for everything french from her B&B Farniente in Aigues-Mortes, a medieval town in Camargue, near Montpellier in the South of France.

Gudrun offers multi-activity holiday accommodation in her home, and while all are welcome, she especially delights in having women visitors – either solo or in groups of up to four. She offers French speaking holidays – not a class, but a fun way to improve your spoken French while enjoying the area.

Improve your French with your own French Coach off the Beaten Track

My informal  linguistic and cultural immersion  programme Is not a “French class” … but a great  opportunity to explore my region with and like an insider and to learn or improve communication and understanding  with French people.

This is not just a holiday for the summer season – her winter holidays are also very fun and tasty … with a black truffle hunting (and tasting) parfum-workshop and much more.

frenchcoachAfter 10 years as a  Language trainer and interpreter in French and German, she embarked on a different career based in the South of France. Rather than open a language school, Gudrun preferred to open a typical french “chambre d’hôte” in her home in Aigues-Mortes…  which ensures that the “French learner” is not immersed in a studious environment but in a real holiday context… much more favourable and enjoyable way to learn.

Always curious to discover what makes my area of France interesting and unique, I’ve spent more than 20 years exploring Provence and building relationships with the local people so that I can introduce you to a lot of special places, people, events and experiences which will make your learning vacation truly exciting and tasty.

Enjoy this slideshow of some of Gudrun’s Adventures:

The week I spent with Gudrun in her charming home was a delight. We explored the Camargue, visited Montpellier and met many interesting people as we travelled around the beautiful Provence countryside. Meanwhile I practised my French. She is an excellent teacher, patient and knowledgeable, but not shy of correcting mistakes or helping with my vocabulary. I can’t recommend her too highly.

Thank you so much for that comment Helene – It does sound absolutely enticing to me

I would love to have more details about your accommodation, the trips we might take, will it all be in French (I hope so), is it an all-inclusive holiday, or do we pay extra for each trip we take, when could I see the lavender fields, and ….. and….. and …..
This looks like a beautiful place for a single woman to take a holiday.
