Your Invitation to Sail the Greek Islands…

January 10, 2017 by Rosemary

Sail the Greek Islands with an all women crew and captainHow about some laid back SAILING and getting to know some small out of the way islands in Greece?

Five Women only – perhaps you and a couple of friends…

Captain Christy Invites you to join her women only sailing trip

Check your diary – 8 Days from June 6 2017

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This is a RELAXING no stress trip, not competitive or difficult sailing; wind, we have, but I do everything I can to make it a comfortable enjoyable trip.

Come on a sailing touring trip in out of the way islands with a female captain who has years of experience in this area.

Sail the Greek Islands with an all women crew and captainStart and finish in Leros, Dodecanese, Greece (I am happy to give you tips on getting here).  No experience is required, that is the kind of trip I am specialized in.

Gentle instruction will be provided for those who want to learn about sailing and you are welcome to try your hand at the wheel, raising the sail and if possible, sail changes (tacking, etc.) You can also just “be along for the ride”, no push to learn or do the active sailing – join in only if you want to.

We go to small islands, quiet bays, not touristy places. This is where I have been leading sailing trips for over 20 years. This is not competitive sailing, it is comfortable cruising – it is a totally relaxing way to get into sailing – No Stress! Learn to sail – or kick back and watch the water.

FACILITIES ON BOARD

Rather be sailing in the Greek Islands Sail the Greek Islands with an all women crew and captain2 double cabins, (I sleep in the 3rd cabin)  1 berth in the central “saloon”. One head, (WC). We bath in the sea and shower off on the stern (I do have hot water!) This is the sailing life!  Freedom, no makeup, no hair-dos, no rush, really informal and relaxed.

Fly to Athens then to Leros, or via Rhodes, and then on the high speed Cat to Leros the next day. Embark at noon, disembark at 10 the last day.  Most meals included except dinner ashore.

More information on my website: www.ratherbesailing.org

Ladies trips are a blast, no stress, relax, learn, sail, swim, eat good food, experience real Greek island life on very small islands, anchor in out of the way places with great swimming; we do not go to port, this is not a trip that goes to ports, we have few out here anyway and I prefer anchorages and docking where we can swim, snorkel, relax (and sleep) on board in quiet surroundings.

Pricing for this Eight Day Sailing Trip

  • DOUBLE CABIN 2 OCCUPANTS 800 EURO
  • DOUBLE CABIN SINGLE OCCUPANCY 1,500 EURO
  •  SALOON BUNK 700. (ONE BUNK AVAILABLE.

In the saloon you don’t have storage, you just use your case/duffel, a bit less privacy – but in the central, and larger area of the boat.

THE DAY BEFORE WE DEPART: I will be happy to arrange a private or shared room at TONY’S BEACH, my preferred hotel on Leros, for the day before the trip or the day we end the trip.

I like to conclude with a trip-end dinner at O Karaflas Restaurant overlooking Vromolitos bay, Leros – a super restaurant, great owners, great views, nice way to end our trip.

Write with any questions!
