Holistic recovery in the Icelandic Westfjords

February 17, 2015 by Rosemary

islandfrauen“Untouched nature, clean air and water, and the unique culture of Iceland, provide the basis for our trips,” says Helga Hausner, a German who made Iceland her home 17 years ago.

Today, people often try to counter stress and dissatisfaction in life with things like spa treatments. However, studies have shown that in most cases the effect only lasts a short time.

By contrast, ISlandfrauen trips are conceived as an experience for body, mind and soul.

This holistic approach brings not only recreation, but also facilitates sustained positive changes in everyday life. The travel program includes walks, visits and get to know some of the locals, daily swimming and Qi Gong, accompanied by a tailored program on the specific tour theme. Shared laughter, encouragement and exchange with other women are keys to success.

The aim of the experiential program is to help women make their lives happier and more successful. “Our trips help to make our own everyday lives less stressful, to fulfil our desires to address long overdue things and simply to feel better. The rugged Icelandic countryside helps, because here the energy flows free and thoughts become clearer,” Helga says.

The tour themes on offer are: Power Refuelling, Time for You, Awakening Energies, Time Out in Iceland, and Wishes Come True. The trips are offered in German and English.

ISlandfrauen

About ISlandfrauen: the tour operator ISlandfrauen was founded in late 2013 by the graduate social worker Helga Hausner. The target group is women in the middle section of their lives, looking for a break from everyday life and time for reflection and reorientation. The workshops will take place in the small historical village of Þingeyri out of season, in spring and autumn. Helga Hausner is a native German has lived in Iceland since 1997. She has extensive experience in adult education and events by ‘Mrs Weekends’. More information at www.islandfrauen.de
