If you are currently wondering where to go on your next vacation Perhaps it is time for you to lose yourself in the magical city of Barcelona – for the first time or as a frequent visitor, you will not be disappointed
Barcelona, the gorgeous capital city of Catalonia in Spain. Once you get there, you will understand why I recommended it to you. It is a mystical, modern, wonderland packed full of exciting adventures anyone can enjoy. Here is just a taster if you do choose to take my advice.
I have friend who live in the UK, and one of the things that they love about it is that fabulous cities are just a cheap flight away – very accessible for a long weekend. For those of us from further afield, Barcelona is a must for including in your trip to Europe.
Is This Heaven Or Just Accommodation In Spain?
Oh dear, me, where to begin. If you book a hotel room in this city and do not mind paying a little bit more, you are in for a life of luxury. You can get spa treatments in your hotel, you can hire masseuses to come right to your room and did I mention the food – it is exquisite. This goes beyond five-star accommodation.
But if you want to save money while still experiencing luxury I have got a brilliant suggestion. House Trip offers the chance for you to rent a holiday apartment in this stunning city. So, not only will you get to visit it, you have the chance to experience what it’s like to live in it. You will be able to buy local cuisine, cook it yourself and understand what Spanish culture truly is. The best part is that this added experience is about fifty percent cheaper than your average hotel.
You’re Going On An Adventure!
Of course, it’s not just about exploring a modern city, or experiencing luxury, it’s also about being adventurous. You need a chance to explore some of the wonders this place has to offer, and there are many to discover. On your first day, I suggest a trip to Montjuic Mountain, for a breathtaking walk to its peak. I do mean breathtaking literally because it is quite a climb, but you will find the serenity and the views intoxicating. Afterwards, you can take a walk through the Laribai Gardens, a wonderful little corner of wildlife.
The Shops My Goodness, The Shops
It only seems natural to start here because I should warn you that Barcelona is not a trip you want to do on a budget. If you do, make sure you book a year in advance so you can save on costs while still have lots of money to spend. Or, book approximately five weeks in advance and watch as the price of your trip is slashed. I digress, let’s get back to what you really care about, the magical experience of shopping in Barcelona. Honestly, there is nothing quite like it. Whether you want to find small historical boutiques on lost lanes or get the full shopping experience of the 21st century, this is the place to be. Once you tell your friends you are off to Barcelona you will find them begging for you to bring back souvenirs. That’s because the things that can be bought here can not be found anywhere else in the world. If you want my personal advice, Paseo de Gracia is the perfect place for hitting the stores.
Did I convince you? I hope so because a trip to Barcelona is a wonderful experience that you do not want to miss out on.

I was in Beziers in the South of France, and on the map Barcelona was just centimetres away, I just had to go. A quick look and I discover a train journey along the coast will get me there – Barcelona here I come! Barcelona has an allure, like many of the great cities of […]
Barcelona is known for many things – the sunny weather, the architecture of Antoní Gaudí, La Rambla boulevard — the list goes on. As wonderful as those are, that’s not the Barcelona we’re going to talk about today. We’re going to tell you about all the best places you’ve never heard of for eating, drinking, […]
The train journey from Beziers was spectacular at times – hugging the rugged coast – this was definitely a different country from that of France with its never ending (and beautiful!) vineyards. This was Catalunya – in Barcelona every corner I went around there was a building that took my breath away. I headed downtown […]
