Slow Adventure in California

March 17, 2016 by Rosemary

Slow adventureIf your idea of a holiday is walking from inn to inn, having your luggage carried then Slow Adventure in Northern California is for you.

Slow adventure CaliforniaFounder Margaret Leonard has hiked all around the world – Nepal, New Zealand, Switzerland, Patagonia, Croatia and Spain.  Some of these walks are internationally “Great Walks”.  Slow Adventure builds on her desire to create inn to inn self guided walking experiences in her home state of California that equal these ‘Great Walks’ around the world.

Margaret has planned exhaustively, walked every trail, and checked out every Inn to make sure every walker has a first class experience.

Slow adventure CaliforniaYou will be guided by her special maps and notes so that you will have an unforgettable experience.

She has a series of trips from 4- 6 days – some are flat and easy, others a bit more up and down. There are addons on like kayaking, birdwatching and horse riding.

All of them are based around the Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Francisco Bay area.

Slow Adventure welcomes everyone, but they find that 90% of their walkers are women and women’s walking groups.

Slow adventure CaliforniaMargaret writes:

We are passionate about encouraging  travelers to take more risks and experience more challenges.

The self-guided walking vacation concept is very new to Americans and we find walkers love the thrill of self discovery.

Bucharest Walking Tours

Romania’s capital gets a bad rap, but in fact it’s dynamic, energetic and quite fun. It’s where still-unreconstructed communism meets unbridled capitalism; where the soporific forces of the EU meet the passions of the Balkans and Middle East. Many travellers give the city just a night or two before heading off to Transylvania, but we […]
