How Goa Changed me – come and visit us in South India

May 16, 2013 by Rosemary

coralIndigoa is an extraordinary Accommodation and Cooking School based in Goa South India.  It was created by Coral Taylor-Robinson.  Here she shares how this venture started.

Indigoa was created from my own amazing solo travel experiences to India.

goaIt’s been a fascinating journey suffused with anticipation, meaningful moments, mouth watering cuisine, warmth, friendliness, spirituality and so much more.

There are some parts of the world that once visited get into your heart and won’t let go. Goa in India is one of those places for me, its lush beauty and interesting architecture coupled with an ability to overload the senses with the concentrated intensity of its colours, smells, tastes and sounds is totally captivating. Its idyllic beaches and exotic blend of cultures and cuisine is one of the must-see tourist destinations in India.

goasunsetThis tropical paradise offers dawn to dusk sunshine and is renowned for its endless coastlines and sparkling emerald waters. Situated on the west coast of India, Goa offers breathtaking sightseeing opportunities with its mixture of natural beauty, ancient temples and exquisite Portuguese colonial-era architecture.

I run the business with Mahesh who lives in Goa. In the beginning he gave me the opportunity to see Goa from a local perspective (which as a tourist is often impossible to discover) and it is this exposure that has driven me since. It was amazing to get beyond the tourist façade and see what Goa really has to offer and this experience led to the start of Indigoa.

Mahesh and I decided we wanted to offer guests the same amazing opportunity to experience the real Goa and our range of exciting holiday experiences and tours have been designed especially with the solo traveller in mind. This tiny emerald state boasts so much history and culture with so many unforgettable experiences to choose from.

goa-cooking2My interest in indian cuisine and food in general led to the launch of our Indian cooking school which offers an authentic hands-on cooking experience to learn how to cook delicious Indian and Goan food. We explode the mystique surrounding this exotic food and our chefs demonstrate the skills used in creating delicious Indian meals that can be easily replicated at home.

We help with travel arrangements and accommodation and our tour managers take care of all the little details, leaving guests free to enjoy every moment of their holiday.

Above all else we want our guests to discover and experience a truly, beautiful part of Southern India. They are sure to be totally captivated by the magic of Goa and no doubt, like many visitors, yearn to return again.
