Best Vacations For Single Women Travelers

December 17, 2012 by Rosemary

Guest Blog by Shaska

Although most travel packages are designed for couples or larger groups, it is a fact that there are a large number of single women who also like to travel. Travel for single women is usually an expensive and not so pleasant experience because of the fact that they have to book double rooms during their stay, not to mention the odd feeling and facing many unpleasant situations. Single women have to find their own resources too. Depending on the companions they travel with, they can choose to share costs of large rooms with other single women.

Solo Travel Companies

Vacations for single women do not have to be costly to be memorable. Online vacation packages are mostly designed for couples, though those for single women travelers are becoming easier to find.. Single women can still book the travel and hotels on their own or with help from a travel agent who specializes in travel packages for single women.

You can try the option of ‘custom journeys’ to reach out to local guides who would help you to travel alone or with a group of girlfriends, or you can join a woman only tour, of which there are now hundreds.

International Destinations of Interest

More single women travelers are seen making it to international destinations these days. Before deciding on the destination, ensure that you check out experiences of others like you who have traveled to these destinations before. Travel advisories are also there to help. Large metropolitan areas of countries may help you feel safer.

Popular international destinations that single women travel to include the European countries such as Spain, France, and the United Kingdom. Mexico and Peru are also fun destinations for single women travelers. Fun activities in these destinations include dance lessons, nature walks, and sightseeing with escorts. Meeting new people is also a top priority and travel agents organize all tours having that in mind.

Relaxation Time

A spa trip  is definitely one of the best vacation types for any woman. Luxury vacations are aimed at pampering and places like California and Arizona offer out-of-the-world spa experiences for women of all ages. Vacations that include spa experiences allow ladies to engage in activities that interest them at their own pace without getting interrupted by their better halves. It also gives them time to spend on themselves and unwind in the process. SpaFinder.com is a website that can help you find the best spa deals and spa vacations that are available these days but some online research is always a good idea too.

Vacation Cruises

CruiseCruises are a great way of vacationing for single women travelers. Cruises organize social activities that suit single women travelers. It is an ideal way for single women to meet new people and it is also great because everything from food, entertainment and lodging are taken care of. This makes things easy for most single women travelers. Costa Cruises organizes cruises for the singles wherein the single woman traveler can share her room with other women co-travelers.

Themed Vacations

Themed vacations are growing popular with women who want to travel with a group organized around a particular theme. Serendipity Traveler is one such company that offers tours for the smart globe-trotting woman of today. Castles, rivers and garden tours all over Europe and the USA are organized by this company. It is a good idea to seek other single women travelers’ advice when making a solo travel plan.

A recommended online travel magazine for women travelers is TangoDiva.com and  the Women Travel Blog you are now reading.  Both feature reviews of popular travel destinations and tour companies as well as experiences shared by other women travelers.

As a solo traveler, one should consider this simple maxim:

“The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.”

Traveling solo is a time for one’s very self. A time when you need to enjoy the real “you” in the sense that you should try “talking” with your very self, but not to the extent of you seem like losing your mind. Whenever you travel; leave the past, enjoy the moment and let the future unfold in you.
