Become an Adventure Woman on a trek through Nepal and the mighty Himalayas

July 4, 2014 by Rosemary

Nepal Trek with Adventure WomenStanding in the foothills of the Himalayas, gazing out across the vast landscape and never-ending mountain range, you will only ask yourself one question: Why didn’t I come here sooner?

A cool breeze drifts across your face as you begin your trek in the shadows of the world’s highest peaks. This is only the beginning of a magical journey of body and spirit, one that will leave you feeling like a “woman warrior” on the mountaintop.

For more than 30 years, AdventureWomen has led women-only adventure vacations for active travelers over 30. This October, join AdventureWomen on the 16-day Nepal Trekking in the Himalayas; the dry season has begun and with it comes mild weather, a lush countryside and perfect visibility. This adventure tour is a wondrous crossroads of geography, culture and religion.

Elephant Trek with Adventure WomenGuests will hike on a world-class, low-altitude trek past the hypnotic sound of monks chanting in prayer, be welcomed by the Nepalese into their ancient villages, and view the spectacular snowcapped Himalayas at every turn in this mystical mountain kingdom of the fabled Shangri-la.

There will also be wildlife viewing opportunities, a safari by elephant-back into Bengal Tiger territory, rafting and relaxing on the Seti River, exploring Kathmandu’s ancient city of Bhaktapur and the Boudhanath Buddhist Temple Complex, and even an optional flightseeing tour around Mount Everest.
