Transporting Large Groups While On Holiday

April 19, 2016 by Rosemary

A holiday with a group of friends or extended family can be great fun. It gives you all the chance to enjoy each other’s company, and take part in lots of group activities. However, it can be difficult to sort out the logistics of your holiday, and getting from A to B means hiring larger vehicles. The good thing is, it can work out cheaper as the cost can be shared per head, and you can enjoy great rates. Here are some tips for sorting out a group holiday, and some easy ways to get around.

Find the right vehicle

NZ motor homeThe right vehicle will make travelling with a group so much easier. There are lots of vehicles out there for groups, but it’s important to remember that everyone needs a seatbelt when you travel. You might want to book a campervan rental in NZ, perhaps getting two vehicles to seat everyone. That way you can travel in comfort and not be stuck in a car.

Some of the advantages of taking a group in a campervan include:

  • Plenty of storage space
  • Fold out beds for the night time
  • Great facilities for cooking for the group
  • Lots of space for luggage and extras

Therefore they are a great idea for any group trips, can work out as a cheap option for groups on a budget.

Taking children

If you are planning to go on a trip with extended family, perhaps with children in tow, then a campervan can be very useful. It gives them a place to relax, has cooking facilities on board, and has plenty of storage space for their toys. This makes things much easier for those trying to transport kids from place to place on long journeys, and makes the group holiday so much more relaxed.

Space

When you travel with a group, you don’t want to all be squashed into a car, and renting normal sized vehicles means you have to have lots of people driving. It’s easier to rent a vehicle such as a minivan which seats up to eight, as this means you only need one driver per eight people, and the rest can relax. You can then take turns driving, and get to your destination refreshed. Bigger vehicles mean more space and comfort, so you can enjoy the open road.

It can be difficult to plan a trip when you’re travelling with a group, and therefore it’s important to stay as organised as possible. From packing the right equipment, to getting the right vehicle, doing some planning in advance will help. Whether you’re travelling with extended family, or going away as a big group of friends to enjoy the great outdoors,

With plenty of space for everyone, life is much easier, and it means you can take it in turns to drive. You can then sit back and enjoy the scenery, and stop off in all the places that tourists don’t usually get to see.
