WOW – Women on Wheels – 245 and growing…

October 14, 2016 by Rosemary

Are you a Woman?  Are you a Cyclist?  Then this is for you….

Loretta, the Solo Female Cyclist has compiled …

Big WOW Book
100 Women From Around The World
Travel By Bicycle

The Big Women On Wheels Book#1 I’m the solo female world cyclist or wack-a-doo on wheels I like to say.  My first bicycle tour was 5 years long and quite the ride, covering 5 continents and 41 countries. The WOW (women on wheels) Wall, an online bicycle touring community that I founded, is literately busting her britches with 245+ solo female cyclists and still growing.  I put this all together in this new book.

#2 There is so much inspiration floating around the new Big WOW eBook it is difficult to know where to begin. The preface of The Big WOW eBook is written by Annie Londonderry’s great-grandnephew Peter Zheutlin. In 1896, Annie Londonderry became the first woman to cycle around the world. To be compared to such a legend is truly humbling. Then there’s Alyson Peel who got into cycling 3 years ago after hurting her back working for USAID in Afghanistan.

When she is not cycling the roads of Patagonia or the Continental Divide trail from Mexico to Canada, Alyson is a neuroscience instructor at the University of Arizona. And let’s not forget about my friend Snezana the writer, who after suffering severe boredom of her life in her 40’s, took off from her home to cycle through Western Europe over to the high altitude (17000ft/5200m) Annapurna circuit of Nepal.

#3 Are you still with me? Because I have more great news! We are a community of solo female cyclists, age 16 to 71, from most of the world’s countries who have cycled in most of the world’s countries.

#4 And, the reviews are in for The Big eWOW Book  Nancy Vogel from family on bikes says

“…Here’s all the inspiration you need. Lots of women out there pedaling, showing it can be done.”

“…I really enjoy reading what the ladies are experiencing out there and debunking every single myth about solo female cyclists touring…Great book” A. Morgan, Broadcasting coordinator, SABC Television

“I received such a beautiful, and thankful, email from a young woman who cycled solo on the West Coast of the USA. An American, born in Amdo Tibet, she found me in WOW – among hundreds of other lady cyclists. Yes, thousands of us cycle solo, and you can read all about us in Loretta Henderson’s wonderful eBook.” Photographer, E. Moseman
