Let the Local Women Show you Rome

June 27, 2013 by Rosemary

ancient-romeI am Vivianna, it’s an honour to write this guest post for Rosemary of Women Travel Blog. I think the website is fantastic for women travellers and I hope I can meet many of the female travellers when they visit Rome. I am part of  a Local Guide Service in Rome

Being a local tour guide in Rome, the eternal city, is a wonderful job, what other city can boast a history and culture like Rome? Rome is an iconic city, such that people from all over the world visit to see how the Romans live, taste our food and walk on our sidewalks. It’s easy to see why Rome is a popular tourist attraction.

While, people can visit Rome without a tour guide, I think to get the best memories of Rome in your short stay it is best to hire one, especially if you’re travelling with small travellers who need to be kept occupied all of the time. Also, during the summer Rome city can get very busy and some areas will have huge crowds, which can be skipped by roaming with a licenced tour guide.

A female tour guide is usually a perfect fit for working with children. Actually, from my personal experience, I can say it’s a marvellous job for women as you can plan your day around your work, so women with families can plan around their family’s needs.

rome-guidesYears ago, the amount of male tour guides outnumbered the females, but now the women easily outnumber the men, I think this is mostly because women here in Rome are more passionate about the city’s history and art. I also consider women to be more patient and considerate with children than men. Moreover, as a tour guide I feel it’s not only my duty to show my clients the most famous sights in Rome but also sights that aren’t commonly mentioned.

I would like to thank Rosemary and Women Travel Blog, for giving me the opportunity to write this blog post for this website. I hope to see you all in Rome very soon, you can visit my website on www.Romeprivateguides.com , Ciao!
