Join me for Six Months on the Silk Road

September 14, 2015 by Rosemary

Mongolia 411Driving overland from Bulgaria to Mongolia in Russian 4X4 vehicles!

Going over in one direction from Bulgaria through Georgia, Russia and on to Mongolia. Return trip is west across Mongolia, into Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan (or Iran) then on to Turkey and Bulgaria.

Rensina van den Heuvel is a passionate overlander – leading tours and exploring herself, particularly in Morocco, Mongolia and Queensland, Australia.  MORE  Join her on this amazing 6 month trip – From 1 May – 1 November.

Remember you can join for just part of the trip

iuIQK9GDS6.jpg MongoliaThe entire trip will take 6 months however you may do part of the trip if you desire.

Accommodation will be both camping and staying in towns….depends on what you want to do. This is a communal trip where we all pay our own way, as in food and accommodation.

You will be responsible to pay for your own visas. Fuel/maintenance costs for running the vehicles you’ll travel in, will cost each person, $25 AUD per day.

iur.jpg foodOther costs for this trip will be your airfares to join the trip. Potential places to join the trip are in Sofia (Bulgaria) or Istanbul (Turkey) or Almaty (Kazakhstan) or Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) or Ulaan Bataar (Mongolia).

We having been planning this Overland trip for quite awhile and next year IS the year.

Age range of travellers already going is 32 to 70. Men and Women.

iu.jpg walkingTravelling from Bulgaria in two (maybe 3) vehicles we will drive to Mongolia. A distance of  about 9500 kilometres. Journey will run through Turkey, Georgia Russia across to Lake Baikal and into  Mongolia.

We will  run a  separate Mongolian tour for the month of July.

At the end of July, we will begin our return journey, back to Bulgaria via the Silk Road and the STAN countries.

iur.jpg TurkeyBeginning in Ulaan Bataar we will head north  to Lake Khovsgul, then west across to Western Mongolia, over the border to Russia, then to Kazakhstan and onwards across the old Silk Road tracks across the “Stan” countries.

These  countries are steeped in ancient cultures, traditional costumes and incredibly spectacular landscapes. This is a trip of a lifetime! Please email me with any questions at all.

Remember there are limited spaces on this once in a lifetime trip
