Where is your favourite Winter sun destination?

It depends what hemisphere you are in – in New Zealand, despite this morning’s frost in Christchurch, the sun is definitely calling us – the days are growing longer and warmer, we are picking lettuce and coriander which are flourishing in the gardens. The positive energy of spring is upon us.
However in the UK, the opposite is happening the days are getting shorter, and colder, we are huddling into our winter woollies, and dreaming of warmth and blue skies.
And before you know it – seasonal depression (yes there is such a thing) hits you.
Did you know the farther north from the equator you live, the greater the risk you’ll have some degree of winter depression. Only about 1% of Florida residents have some winter-specific discomfort or depression, compared to about half of those living in uppermost parts of the U.S. or in southern Canada.
And what helps? Sun of course!
It does not have to be a beach – you could head to Morocco and enjoy bargaining in the Souks, or having a spa holiday, enjoying a different culture in the sun.

So you could head to the Southern Hemisphere

The magical beaches of Australia and New Zealand beckon. Not on for a short break, but increasingly people with portable jobs are going from one hemisphere summer to the other, and avoiding winter altogether.
New Zealand has some fabulous beaches that even in the summer, you can be the only one there, sure you might have to walk or drive a bit to get there. But the magic of a tree lined beach at the end of a walk can not be beaten.
